Izak the Yak

Here we wanted to let you know a little bit about the two of us

so you could understand what inspired

the creation of Izak.

Bruce Hunn

Bruce wanted to create a children’s book with positive values as well as adventure.  Coming from a family of artists and musicians, Bruce has always enjoyed writing. He also wanted Izak to be a family project where he would write the story and his brother, Barry, could illustrate it. Bruce and Barry had been introduced to Dr. Seuss, Winnie the Pooh, Aesop’s Fables and Anatole the Mouse when they were very young and thought that they could create a work of art to compare to those classic tales. Bruce has done many things, from being a cowboy to teaching Air Force Test Pilots, but loves the creative process crafted in Izak.

Barry Hunn

Barry is not only a talented artist, but also a very talented musician. Barry has the ability to pick up any instrument and play, and likewise he has an eye for art and illustration, often drawing cartoon characters for fun. After playing banjo, professionally, for many years, he decided to continue his passion for music by leading a sales team for the world's largest banjo manufacturer. His work on Izak is a fulfillment of his artistic talent in creating wondrous scenes, cute characters, and a story with healthy moral values.
